Old School Blogging: Reflective

Old School Blogging is back for 2015 and this month Elaine came up with all her own questions that get ya thinkin' about your past.

1. Who do you idolize? Idolize? Like, someone I consider an idol? Not like, American Idol, though, right? Hmm... You know what? I find myself developing a growing fondness for my elders. For their stories, experiences, insights, wisdom. I'm not saying I think they're always right (ahem, Mom and Dad), but I think it's definitely worth taking all that they've learned into consideration.

2. What is something you are really proud of that you have accomplished? Besides the typical and obligatory mom answer of "I grew tiny humans!", which I did do and I am proud of (especially giving birth all natural the first time)....besides my marriage....maintaining a good long-distance friendship since high school, and this blog.

3. What is something that you are not so proud of? Not getting very much dental care.

4. Who was your best friend when you were 5, 6, or 7? Tell me something about them. My cousins Sara and Jason. Jason was older and mean, but I still kind of liked him. My aunt took care of me a lot, and then we moved just a couple of blocks apart. I loooovved them. Today, Sara is a professional pianist and mom of two girls, and Jason works in construction with his dad, my uncle, and likes sailing Puget Sound.

5. What is one thing you wish you could still do but may seem impossible right now? I was just telling my MIL that I used to think I would eventually get some sort of college degree, but right now I'm not feeling like that will happen.

6. If you could chose it, what would be your last meal? Probably a Chipotle carnitas burrito (which I have not had in years), with either a Coke or a giant margarita, and Dutch apple pie a la mode for dessert.

7. What are two or three jobs you’ve had that you liked? Heh, I've only had two or three jobs (paying, that is)! My very first job, working at a movie theater, was awesome. I think it is the best place for a teenager to work.

8. What is one job that you did not like? I haven't hated anything I've worked at. But, at the movie theater, cleaning the butter dispenser was pretty awful!

9. What is your least favorite chore around the house? Laundry. Dishes are a close second. Both of those are just perpetual and never-ending and therefore you can't really get a sense of accomplishment doing them. They're NEVER really DONE! Your entire family would have to spend a day naked and hungry in order for it to be so. On the flip side, I actually feel kind of Zen when I'm vacuuming and have no desire for someone else to do that.

10. How tall are you? Do you wish you were taller? Shorter? I am technically 5'4" 3/4, but I just call it 5'5". I'm good with it.

11. How old are you? What is something you have learned in those years that you want to share? I turned 40 last April, so I'm creeping up on 41. I think the most important thing I've learned is that I may have my issues/problems, but so do you, and we're both just trying to make it through our lives the best we can, and we should all cut each other some slack. I mean, for the most part. There are some douchebags and complete assholes out there, but I'm not one, and chances are, neither are you.

12. What is one of your favorite quotes on love, life or motherhood (choose one)? One? ONE?? Holy heck! I have an entire category of quotes on this blog, ya know. My most pinned-to Pinterst board is Quotes. There are so many that I love, but I will go with one that speaks to me right now:
