About Being a Kid

For this week's Listicle, Stasha asked for 10 Reasons Being a Kid Rocks.

I can easily give 10 Reasons Why Being an Adult Sucks, so I'm going to defer to my children on this one!

AJ (6) says being a kid rocks because...

1. You don't have to make your own bed.

2. You get to play Xbox.

3. You get to ride bikes.

4. You don't have to pay for stuff.

5. Jumping on beds.

Camryn (11) says being a kid rocks because...

6. Getting to play lots of games.

7. Eating sugary things.

8. Summer camp, or summer in general.

9. Sleepovers

10. Girl Scouts

  3. Eating sugary things, not making my bed and sleepovers... so miss those things!

  4. I think children and adults could do most of those...but number four is tough to get around. And that's the one that I wish my children would understand. Things COST money...Fun list.

  5. Ooh, I loved to jump on the bed when I was a kid. And I still LOVE summer...oh, and I still eat sugary things too ;)

  6. Love that quote. Love a lot of quotes by John Lennon. And your kids have some great lists. I love summer, too.

  8. Being a grown up can seriously suck sometimes, that would have been an easy list. Love your kids lists. Still eat sugary things, still don't make my bed and I love to play on my XBox, that I had to pay for. sigh.

    1. They say paying for things with your own money makes you appareciate it more. They say.

  9. that's a darn near perfect list! I even manage to succeed at some: I still eat sugar all too much, I never make my bed, and I love to play Wii....which I didn't have to pay for since the kids pooled all their gift money together to purchase!
can't jump on beds though - after 3 kids, I might pee my pants :(

    1. Yep, I didn't bother to tell my kids that grown-ups still do some of those things.

  10. They clearly hold the key to life.. I still jump on my bed loads. Paying games rocks, specially if we don't have to play with them!
Love that quote and your list!

  11. The John Lennon quote surprised me! So true. Kids really do know how to be happy without putting a lot of thought to it. Oh to be young again.

  13. Jumping on the bed! I love it! We don't let our kids do this at home, but when we stay in motels/hotels, we let them go crazy. They've been in the car all day, so they've got to get their energy out somehow! :)
