Angry Jennifer!

Things that make me angry include:
  • Mother Nature jerking us around - all I want is 2 little months of sun. Why is that so much to ask?
  • Whiny children - why can't you just speak in a normal voice?
  • Spills - the child spills something, but it's mom who has to clean it up.
  • Pimples - especially at 38 years old. This is making me angrier and angrier. I mean, my face is behaving better lately, but who knows when it will freak out again, and don't even get me started on body acne!
  • Completely inconsiderate people who won't give their seat to a pregnant woman.
  • Parents who stubbornly refuse to leave a public place with their screaming child.
  • When my children won't acknowledge that I've just spoken to them.
  • Lying (except for little white lies; that's usually just being nice)
  • When things don't work the way they're supposed to.
  • Entertainers who completely mess up their lives and waste their talents.
  • When a TV show I love is canceled without a decent ending.
  • Looking forward to eating something only to discover that someone else got to it first.
  • The phrase "I can't".
  • Anything negative (intolerance, war) in the name of God.
  • When a restaurant takes my favorite dish off their menu.
  • People who complain all the time.
  • Those who think they're better.

Stasha, the #1 sound I hate the most is
the sound of my phone ringing in the middle of the night
when Mark is in the hospital.

What makes you angry?

  1. Oh the whining! PLEASE stop the whining. PLEASE? Talk to me if you want something don't whine at me. . .

What show was canceled that didn't end well? (I'm nosey.)

And I agree with the rest of your list. All or most of those make me angry as well.

  2. Your post made me smile. It's true about life's pet peeves. Mine would be the pimple thing. I thought it was something I had to deal with in my teens and then it would go away, why am I still dealing with this crap at 35?!?!?!

  4. Yes, yes! A great list. The finding-your-desired-food-is-gone is the worst. It makes me want to cry, which is my go-to response for food-related anger.

  8. The whining and the TV shows? So annoying. I also really hate when restaurants do that - it happened to me a couple weeks ago, actually and I was so disappointed. What a great list.

  9. Oh yes, I second all of those. Intolerance, specially in the name of God! And people who are acting better then us. Not worth the time really! great list Jen!

  13. A very nicely done list. Whiny children are at the top of mine too.

  14. When my children won't acknowledge that I have spoken to them might be the only thing driving me over the edge this summer, so all in all, not too bad.

I hope you avoid midnight phone calls. Tough stuff. Ellen

  15. OOoh that selective hearing things. ARGH! Even at nearly 4, Lil Duck has mastered this and it sets me off every time. I have no hopes of it improving as she progresses to the teenage years at warp speed. :(

  17. Ooh very well done combining these two fab prompts!

All of the anger-inciters on your list are good ones. By which, of course, I mean they're bad. Very bad. :)

But I might have to go with whining for the win. Who invented whining anyway, right? :)

  18. You've got my top complaint. Seriously? Another pimple? I'm in my late 30s. Argh!

  19. Why can't kids just acknowledge they heard you!? drives me crazy to be ignored!

  20. I hear you on all of them - esp. parents who won't leave a public place w. their screaming child. Honestly, if my kid ever is about to be disruptive, I pretty much BOLT.

    1. Right? It's so embarrassing when your kid is being a jerk. Why wouldn't you want to leave?
