I LOVE me some good quotes!
They inspire, encourage, cheer, enlighten, can perfectly encapsulate a moment and convey exactly what you wish you would've said. Luckily, someone already did!
“Somewhere
in the world there is an epigram for every dilemma.”

I have a dream that I will one day say something worth quoting.
What? It could happen.
My favorite quote website is The Quote Garden. It's where I get 99% of the quotes I use.
First, my most favorite-y favorite quotes....
1.
"Go forth in confidence and go forth in peace. For there are angels to your left and angels to your right, angels in front of you and angels behind you, angels above you and angels below. You are loved, and you are not alone..."
~ Marianne Williamson
2.
"We are not put here to audition one another, put someone on trial, or use other people to gratify our own ego needs. We are not here to fix, change or belittle another person. We are here to support, forgive and heal one another."
-- Marianne Williamson, in A Return to Love
3.
"I still find each day too short for all the thoughts I want to think, all the walks I want to take, all the books I want to read and all the friends I want to see."
~ John Buroughs
~ John Buroughs
4.
"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."
Now just plain ole fave quotes....
5.
"If the sun refused to shine, I would still be loving you. When mountains crumble to the sea, there will still be you and me."
6.
"A friend is one of the nicest things you can have, and one of the best things you can be."
7.
"Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body."
8.
“Ever morning, until you dead in the ground, you gone have to make this decision. You gone have to ask yourself, "Am I gone believe what them fools say about me today?”
and
“You is kind. You is smart. You is important.”
9.
"A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same
person."
~Mignon McLaughlin, The Second Neurotic's Notebook
And last, amazing words from a fellow blogger that made me go WHOA...
10.
"I broke, finally, when he got cancer. I'm not ok and never will be. It's actually quite liberating. I've learnt to wear the world like a loose garment. Simultaneously waiting for the next terrible and extraordinary thing to happen. I will not be disappointed. I am not who I will be tomorrow."
~ Eden Riley, Edenland
Bonus: I just recently saw this on Facebook....
Gotta love Albert! |

this one always makes me well up:
ReplyDelete“You is kind. You is smart. You is important.”
― Kathryn Stockett, The Help
As we are forever growing and changing... and especially because we knew EVERYTHING when we were young... I really like a quote that one guy said (typed) to me when chatting online was a novelty... He said, "I don't BELIEVE in anything. I ether KNOW it; or I'm still THINKING about it."
ReplyDeleteI used to Believe in a lot of things; I used to know a whole lot more than I know now.. So, I'm content with just thinking about everything, ya know? Besides, as soon as I think I KNOW something, I change my perspective, the world changes, or 'life' shows you that you really don't know anything at all!
I love the Dr. Seuss quote!! Great list!! And I bet one day someone will TOTALLY quote you!!
ReplyDeleteI love this list. I have quote garden bookmarked. And love the bonus one. Both on your list and on the comment you left under mine. Thank you xo
ReplyDeleteGreat list, Jen. I couldn't agree more with John Buroughs! Love the Einstein quote too - he was my hero growing up. I know! I was a total nerd! :-)
ReplyDeleteI love the quote from The Help...I just read the book and saw the movie and was so taken by her saying that to the child...we should all tell our kids that...even the grown ones!
ReplyDeleteGreat quotes. #7 melts me every time!
ReplyDeleteGreat list!! I adore the Dr. Seuss quote. It has always been a favorite of mine.
ReplyDeleteCrap. I just lost my comment! I love these quotes. There are a few people I'd like to share number two with.
ReplyDelete#5 and #9 are my favorites...at least right now. I seem to be feeling a bit nostalgic. Where's that husband of mine? Oh yeah. He's sleeping and I'm up late!
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful quotes! I do hope also to be able to quote something quotable someday.
ReplyDeleteGreat quotes! :) Getting inspired by all the quote-reading this week.
