This cover is obviously meant to illicit a response, not provide an accurate portrayal of what breastfeeding or attachment parenting is really like. And the question? Ridiculous. It is a ploy to enrage and belittle all mothers, regardless of parenting style. Terrible journalism, Time.Juliahttp://elatedexhaustion.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5224100136962162818.post-19710956788196779332012-05-13T20:36:38.622-07:002012-05-13T20:36:38.622-07:00Hmmm I just remembered that my children receive Ti...Hmmm I just remembered that my children receive Time for Kids from school on a regular basis. Uh oh. Perhaps I should look through their folders and see what was on the cover of this month's issue.zoehttp://zoephrenia.blog.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5224100136962162818.post-48429699604058061802012-05-12T20:58:04.157-07:002012-05-12T20:58:04.157-07:00You can see some of the other photos the photog to...You can see some of the other photos the photog took here: http://lightbox.time.com/2012/05/10/parenting/photo/1/#1 In my opinion, they are a lot more tame and quite beautiful. Time clearly chose the most contentious image for their cover, but that shouldn't really be a surprise.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14390231394987275353noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5224100136962162818.post-58393810002637088792012-05-12T20:55:24.250-07:002012-05-12T20:55:24.250-07:00Quite honestly, this magazine cover doesn't bo...Quite honestly, this magazine cover doesn't bother me. I am way more interested in what this magazine says about how our society views parenting choices than what Time is saying to mothers. I understand the hurt and the outrage, I just don't feel it myself.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14390231394987275353noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5224100136962162818.post-84433913407028045922012-05-12T19:43:39.050-07:002012-05-12T19:43:39.050-07:00I agree -- it's the title that is leaving a ba...I agree -- it's the title that is leaving a bad taste in my mouth. not the breastfeeding preschooler. to each his own on that account. but don't belittle me just before a holiday in MY honour.LA Botcharhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09045857399816360885noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5224100136962162818.post-25333421093069144322012-05-12T19:15:11.053-07:002012-05-12T19:15:11.053-07:00I too had a lifelong love affair with TIME magazin...I too had a lifelong love affair with TIME magazine. I grew up reading it. It catalogued every milestone that mattered. I saved copies. But this - I totally agree w. you in this post - "Really, TIME?" I have this creepy feeling that they hired a new photographer and PR team or something and these people decided to try and push the envelope - or something - and to sell more magazines TIME stepped out of its usual box to let these idiots do something as inane as this and in so doing - maybe they sold more mags or got more of us talking about it but in the long run they totally lost my respect and I'll be watching to see how they recover it. Felt like a guilt trip to me who never breastfed..truth is, your kid will not know a better mom - they feel the love from you and that's what they really need..my kids tell me almost on a daily basis that I'm the best mom ever even though I personally think I could be doing a better job..Coffee Lovin' Momhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06800797028012321249noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5224100136962162818.post-13732566993128301152012-05-12T08:51:57.679-07:002012-05-12T08:51:57.679-07:00I do get most of my news from Twitter :)I do get most of my news from Twitter :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00482024836687697379noreply@blogger.com
